From July 1994 to Present - Adjunct faculty member in several divisions of the State Technical Institute of Memphis (effective July 1, 2000 Southwest Tennessee Community College) teaching Microsoft Office for Windows™ including Microsoft Access™.
From July 1994 thru December 1994 assisted in the development of the Microsoft Access™ course in the Information Technologies Department now in place at Southwest Tennessee Community College and have taught various workshops for private industry and the STCC Computer Resource Center.
November 1998 completed a course in Character Programming in PROGRESS at the Progress Education Center in Bedford, Mass.
January 1999 developed a course in Character Programming in PROGRESS for State Technical Institute of Memphis in partnership with the Progress Software Company.
July 1986 to January 1992 - Chief Financial Officer of B'Nai B'Rith Home (now Memphis Jewish Home) in Memphis, Tennessee; a 159 bed skilled & intermediate care nursing facility certified for Medicare & Medicaid. Responsible for all financial functions of the home including all Medicare/Medicaid Skilled Nursing cost reports and Medicaid Intermediate Care cost reports and all data processing functions.
At B'Nai B'Rith, designed and implemented a 30 node (workstation) network system, using MS DOS and Novell Netware 3.11, in order to improve internal communications and process increased paperwork, without increasing staff. The system includes all accounting, billing, pharmacy and dietary functions, word processing, spreadsheets, database, desktop publishing and E mail.
March 1983 to July 1986 - Vice President / Fiscal Management at United Hospital Corp. in Memphis, Tennessee, a proprietary hospital management company. During this time, worked with programmers from the wholly owned data processing subsidiary of United in developing the company owned central data processing system used by the home office and all affiliated hospitals.
July 1979 to March 1983 - Regional Controller at United Hospital Corp., designed and implemented the standardized general accounting system for all United affiliates; responsible for all third party reimbursement; coordinating hospital audits (managed & owned) and the financial marketing surveys for possible acquisitions and new management contracts.
1977 to July 1979 - Controller of Smith County Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Tennessee; a 66 bed proprietary hospital owned and operated by Hospital Corporation of America. Responsible for all fiscal functions of the hospital.
1971 to 1977 - Director of Fiscal Services at the Brattleboro Retreat in Brattleboro, Vermont; a long term care psychiatric hospital and nursing home. Responsible for all business office functions, budget, general accounting, third party reimbursement, coordinating all audits and other financial functions. In 1976 converted the accounting system from manual to computer, using an IBM System 32 and RPGII. Attended RPGII Programming classes in Coral Gables, Fla.
